now'a'days we all need more than a physical disk spinner. Panasonic UB9000/820 don't support mkv USB/NASS playback which i find suprising really. Seems hard to find a media player that can support almost ALL formats (ISO ripps, mkv files etc etc) - basically an all in one transcoder, highly customisable playback media solution. I guess the next step in media players would be things like a Raevon UBRX200 or Zappiti ? which seem to be able to play a range of formats via USB/Network(nass) - mkv files etc. When doing direct comparisons I find Kodi player can throw a better image to me on my setup with the same / this type of content. Just tried Kodi & its a step in the right direction, more customisable player settings, it's edging closer to what I'm after and accessible via the NASS on the sheild just like Plex. files.Īny suggestions? Perhaps i need to look for another player other than Plex and give that a test / comparison ? Any other recommendations on player options or possible solutions to existing setup? I do have the AI enhancement option on high in Plex.ĪLL the files I play are larger 10-100 GB 4K UHD HDR etc.

If i could combine the two i'd be a happy guy. I actually find watching via the LG OLED in built player more visually impressive & immersive.ĪUDIO on the other hand, i find it noticeably better via Plex / Nass solution.

It's a noticeable difference and really bothers me. the plex player seems to shrink the image down slightly (top and bottom black bars - very small black bars, but not the full height id normally get) and overall darker, less sharp and less detail (perhaps 'softer' and a bit more grainy may further explain what im experiencing). The PQ of the inbuilt LG OLED player honestly seems noticeably more detailed, sharper and brighter. The real problem i'm facing is i actual prefer the PQ of the inbuilt LG OLED player.ī) via PLEX app on the Nvidia Sheild Pro from NASS. I recently started using Plex via a Nvidia Sheild Pro with a Synology NASS as storage - playing on an LG OLED.
